Muslim Civil Rights Group Blasts Muslim Ban 2.0

Farhana Khera, president and executive director of Muslim Advocates, issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s revised Muslim ban. Muslim Advocates is playing a key role in informing the public about their rights under the ban and in legal strategies to challenge the ban in court:

“Make no mistake, this is the Muslim ban that President Trump and his aides have been promising. The administration is just rearranging the chairs at the same table.

The administration is committed to writing anti-Muslim bigotry into law and this new executive order is just one way to do it. President Trump and his advisors’ zeal to demonizing an entire faith is shameful.

Muslim Advocates is playing a key role in informing the public about its rights under the ban and in devising legal strategies to challenge the ban in court.  He’s already been beaten once in the courts and in the streets; we’re prepared to do it again.”

Muslim Advocates is a national legal advocacy and educational organization that works on the frontlines of civil rights to guarantee freedom and justice for Americans of all faiths.

As a thoughtful voice in Washington, we ensure the concerns of American Muslims are heard by leaders at the highest levels of government.  As a watchdog of justice, we use the courts to bring to task those who threaten the rights of American Muslims.
