Coalition urges Attorney General Mukasey to release draft revised FBI investigative guidelines.

On August 12, 2008, Muslim Advocates and a broad coalition of nearly 40 organizations representing a diverse array of civil liberties, interfaith and other interests submitted a letter to the Attorney General urging him to release a pre-final draft of the forthcoming revised FBI investigative guidelines before they take effect. Congress and the public should have opportunity for full and meaningful input on any proposed expansion of FBI's surveillance authority.
